Young Engineers - BRICKS Challenge

Grades 1-5  Fridays 2:25-3:25  Tech Room 101

The objective of this course is to impart theoretical and applied knowledge in the fields of Science, Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by using LEGO® and other exciting tools. Students will learn mathematics and physical principles through intuitive study; develop their independent learning; and improve their building skills. Once the concepts have been demonstrated, students build LEGO® models which provides experiential learning and reinforces the lessons. Some fun topics covered in class are Newton’s law, Lever principle, Transmissions, Centrifugal force, etc. The theme this session: Amusement Park.  Students will study levers, forces, loads, and other principles in order to build a Pirate Ship, Cable Car, Ferris Wheel, Carousel, and Catapult.  Visit our website at seattlecity.e2youngengineers.com for more details.
