BF Day is partnering with SDOT, AAA, and SPS to launch a Student Safety Patrol program next school year at our Linden & 40th and Fremont crossings. We will be looking for approximately 15 responsible 4th and 5th-grade student patrollers (ages 10+) to develop leadership skills, alongside a few adult volunteers. $92.5K PTSA Grant Approved: The Seattle School Board unanimously approved our $92,500 grant! This one-time funding will directly support teacher collaboration, professional development, and a classroom tutor to celebrate and support our diverse learners.
Salmon in the Schools: Next year, students will get hands-on environmental science experience raising salmon eggs in classroom tanks, tracking their development, and concluding the year with a field trip to release the fry into local creeks.
New Maker Carts Pilot: We are launching PTSA-sponsored Maker Carts packed with curriculum-aligned math and science materials to bring lessons to life with fun, hands-on physics and engineering projects.
