Creative Coding: Level Up!
Creative Coding
Creative Coding teaches kids the joy of coding by helping them write their own custom video games. For 10 years, our mission has been to get more girls involved in coding at a younger age as a long-term solution to gender imbalance in the tech industry. Our focus has been public elementary schools in the Seattle area. Our approach is to teach multi-gendered after-school classes to ages 7-12. And it works! Our earliest students are now entering college and our teacher alumni are working in industry. For more info, visit creativecoding.com.

Mode Music
Every class has its own story to tell! In the Story Drama series, students will use works by popular children’s authors like Dr. Seuss and Eric Carle to explore story-telling fundamentals and work together to bring those stories to life. Older students can dive into some of their favorite chapter books, like A Series of Unfortunate Events, Magic Tree House, and A Wrinkle In Time. Students of all ages will have a blast using visuals, music, performance art, and games to create a unique “staged” version of each story. A final presentation of the students’ creation will be performed on the final day of class for an audience of family and friends.
